Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - tender ladyfingers/okra
  • 1 cup - tamarind juice
  • 2 tsp - chilly powder
  • 1 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - ginger and garlic paste
  • few curry leaves
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp - sugar
  • 2 - onions, chopped

How to Make Tangy Lady's Finger

  • Wash the ladyfingers and cut them into medium sized pieces.
  • Heat oil in pan and fry the onions till they turn light brown.
  • Add ginger and garlic paste and saute for a few minutes.
  • Add the chilly powder, cumin powder, curry leaves, turmeric powder and cumin powder. Fry for some time.
  • Add the cut lady's fingers and mix well.
  • Keep frying for a few minutes.
  • Now add the salt, sugar and tamarind juice. Simmer on low heat till the lady's fingers/okra is cooked and the gravy is thick.
  • Serve as a side dish with rice or chapattis.
