Ingredients

  • 1 - big onion
  • 3 - red chillies
  • 1 tsp - jeera (cumin)
  • 1tsp - rai (mustard)
  • a pinch hing
  • a pinch turmeric
  • 1 tsp - urad dal
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • salt to taste

How to Make Tangy Onion Chutney

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add hing, jeera, mustard seeds, red chillies, urad dal and turmeric.
  • Wait till the mustard seeds splutter.
  • Let it cool for a minute.
  • Add this to the blender (mixie) and make a powder.
  • To this, add raw onion pieces and salt and blend once again to make a coarse paste.
  • This chutney is good with rice or roti.
