Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Pearlspot or Pomfret
  • 1 - grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • A pinch - turmeric powder
  • 3 - sliced onions
  • 2-inch piece - chopped ginger
  • 4 - sliced tomatoes
  • 6 - split green chillies
  • 3 tbsp - ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - vinegar

How to Make Tasty Fish Molee

  • Grind coconut with cumin seeds and turmeric and extract milk twice. Use 1 cup of hot water for the first extraction and 1.5 cups of water for the second extraction.
  • Heat ghee in a pan.
  • Add onions, ginger and green chillies.
  • Saute well for 5 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes and saute for a while.
  • Add the second extraction of coconut milk.
  • Let it boil for 5 minutes.
  • Add salt and fish and cook till done.
  • Add the first extraction of coconut milk.
  • Boil for 2 minutes on low heat.
  • Add vinegar and mix well.
  • Remove from fire.
  • Serve hot with rotis.
