  • 1 litre - milk
  • 1/2 cup - rice (washed and soaked for 20 minutes)
  • 8 - green cardamoms, peeled and powdered
  • 20 strands - saffron (soaked in 2 to 3 tbsp of hot milk)
  • 6 -7 tbsp - sugar
  • 14 - almonds
  • 12 - pistachio.

How to Make Tasty Rice Kheer

  • Boil the milk. After it boils, let it simmer.
  • Drain out the water from the rice and grind it coarsely.
  • Add the rice to the milk and stir continuously for 10 to 15 minutes, so that the rice does not stick to the bottom of the vessel.
  • Add saffron and powdered cardamoms.
  • Boil the milk till the rice is cooked and the milk thickens.
  • Add sugar and cook for few more minutes till the sugar dissolves.
  • Remove from the stove.
  • Boil the almonds and pistachios in one cup of water for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the stove and let it cool.
  • Peel off the skin and finely slice them.
  • Add to the kheer and mix well.
  • Serve.
