Ingredients

  • 1 cup - bengal gram
  • 1 cup - finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp - finely chopped green chillies
  • 1 tsp - finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - aniseed
  • 4 - cloves
  • 2 - cardamom
  • 1 - cinnamon
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry

How to Make Tasty Vadai

  • Soak the Bengal gram for 2 hours and grind it coarsely in a mixer.
  • Grind the masala ingredients [aniseed, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon] and add it to the mixture.
  • Add the remaining ingredients except the oil to the mixture to create the dough.
  • Flatten small discs of the dough in your palm.
  • Deep fry in oil. Serve hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.
