Ingredients

  • Tur dal - 1 cup
  • Beetroot - 3
  • Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli - 5-6
  • Curry leaves and coriander Leaves -finely chopped
  • Vegetable oil- for frying
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Tea- Time Beetroot Patties

  • Soak the dal in water for an hour.
  • Drain the water and grind the dal into a paste along with the red chillies and jeera.
  • Peel the beetroots and grate finely.
  • Add the grated beetroots, salt, chopped onions, curry leaves and coriander leaves to the dal paste and mix well.
  • Roll the dough into tikkis and deep-fry.
  • Serve hot with tomato sauce and coriander chutney.
