Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Channa dal, Urad dal and Green Moong dal
  • 2 - Tomatoes
  • 3 - Green chillies
  • 1 tsp - Ginger (minced)
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • For tempering:
  • 5 - Garlic cloves (crushed)
  • A few curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • Oil
  • 1 tbsp - Coriander leaves (chopped)

How to Make Tidaali Daal-Three Lentils Mix Dal

  • Soak the lentils in warm water for at least an hour. Wash them properly.
  • In a pressure cooker, take 3 cups water, add all three lentils, tomatoes, ginger, green chillies, turmeric, and salt. Cook for 5 whistles.
  • Once the pressure gets released, mash the dals.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add crushed garlic, curry leaves, and cumin seeds and fry till garlic turns golden brown.
  • Add this tadka to the cooked dals, close the lid, and simmer it for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rotis or rice.
