Ingredients

  • 1 cup - cooked rice
  • 2 chopped - tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped - capsicum
  • 1 chopped fine - onion
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - coriander powder
  • 1 bay leaves
  • 1 inch piece - cinnamon
  • 2 tsp - pav bhaji masala
  • 1 tsp - tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp - Oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Tomato Pulao (Mumbai Style)

  • In a pan heat oil, add cumin, bay leaves and cinnamon to it.
  • When they splutter add onions, ginger garlic paste and saute well till the onions turn translucent.
  • Add coriander powder, turmeric powder and saute well.
  • When done add capsicum, tomatoes and saute.
  • Cook well for few minutes and then add tomato ketchup and pav bhaji masala to it and mix well. Saute for 5 mins and add cooked rice and mix well.
  • Add salt to taste and again mix well.
