  • 1 kg - tomatoes
  • 1.5 tsp - butter
  • 3 tsp - chopped garlic
  • 1 - small piece of ginger, chopped
  • 1/2 - chilli, chopped
  • a handful of coriander leaves, chopped
  • basil leaves for taste
  • 1 tbsp - light cream
  • salt to taste

How to Make Tomato Soup with basil leaves

  • Puree the tomatoes and keep aside.
  • Heat a vessel on medium flame.
  • Add butter and add the chopped garlic, ginger, chilli and coriander leaves. Sautee until a nice aroma emanates.
  • Add the pureed tomatoes and let it simmer. Add some water if required.
  • Add basil leaves and salt according to taste.
  • When the mixture boils, remove the vessel from the stove and let the soup cool.
  • Strain the soup.
  • Put the soup on medium flame, add cream and let it simmer for some time.
