Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - torai
  • 1 cup - channa dal
  • 1 - small onion
  • 4 - green chillies
  • 1 tsp - garam masala
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • For paste:
  • 1/4 cup - coconut, grated
  • 4 flaks - garlic
  • 1 tsp - jeera
  • Grind with little water

How to Make Torai Channa dal Subzi

  • Cut torai and onion into cubes.
  • Wash channa dal and cook with torai till soft and done.
  • Add ground paste, chillies, chilli powder, garam masala, and turmeric.
  • Mix well and let it cook for 1 min.
  • Put oil for tadka.
  • Add mustard and curry leaves.
  • Add this to curry.
  • Serve hot with rotis and rasam rice.
