Ingredients

  • 5 - flour tortillas (small)
  • Vegetable oil - enough to deep fry
  • 1.5 cups - minced meat
  • 1 - large onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 - green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup - chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp - ginger and garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp - water
  • Salt to taste
  • All purpose flour and water - to make slurry to seal edges of the tortillas

How to Make Tortilla Samosas

  • Prepare the filling: Heat the oil in a saucepan on medium-high heat.
  • Add the onions, finely minced meat (chicken, turkey, or beef), and saute until browned.
  • Add the ginger-garlic paste, a pinch of turmeric, green chillies, and cook on medium heat for about 15-20 mins, until the meat is cooked.
  • Add coriander leaves and let the filling cool.
  • Prepare the samosas (can be baked at 350 degree F or deep fried).
  • Heat oil in a deep saucepan on medium high.
  • Cut the tortillas into two halves, and fold them like a V, with the front flaps overlapping.
  • Fill the V-shaped tortillas with the filling and seal the edges with slurry of all purpose flour.
  • Deep-fry them until they turn light brown colour.
