Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups - coconut milk
  • 1 cup - black eyed beans
  • 1 cup - white pumpkin, chopped
  • 1 cup - pumpkin
  • 4 - green chillies, slit
  • 6 - curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Traditional Olan

  • Soak the beans overnight.
  • Pressure cook the next day till nearly done.
  • Add chopped pumpkin, salt and slit green chillies.
  • Cook with a little water.
  • When the pumpkin and the beans are completely cooked, pour hot oil tempered with curry leaves.
  • Add the coconut milk and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
