  • Mushrooms - half lb (cut into small pieces)
  • Onion - 1, medium (chopped finely)
  • Tomato puree - 1 cup
  • Garam masala - 1 tbsp
  • Elaichi powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Traditional Tomato Mushrooms

  • Take a frying pan with a lid and heat two tsp oil in it.
  • Add the chopped onions and fry till they are pink in colour.
  • Then, add tomato puree, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Let it simmer for a few minutes. Then add the mushrooms.
  • Cover the frying pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Before removing from the stove, add garam masala and stir well.
  • Add elaichi powder towards the end.
  • Serve hot after garnishing with coriander leaves.
