  • 2 - Raw plantains
  • 1 - Onion
  • 6 or 7 - Green chillies
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • 2 sprigs - Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - Oil
  • Mustard, Urad Dal, Channa Dal and Hing for seasoning
  • 2 tbsp - Grated coconut
  • 1 tsp - Lime juice
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Vazzaikkai Podimas

  • Cut plantains into halves and microwave or steam them in a pressure cooker.
  • Let it cool and remove the outer skin.
  • Crumble the plantain and set it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the seasonings.
  • Add chopped green chillies, curry leaves, onions, and fry till onions are translucent.
  • Now add the plantains, salt and turmeric powder and saute.
  • When done, sprinkle grated coconut and add a dash of lime juice.
