Veg Frankie is a yummy snack mostly loved by kids. This kid friendly snack is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.

The vegetable Frankie as the name says, is made with vegetable filling. The filing is in the form of tikki. Since the outer shell of a Frankie needs to be crisp, so corn flour is added to the flour mix and then it needs to be shallow fried.

The tikki is made with veggies like potatoes, onion and various sauces. The tangy filing is what will make the Frankie special. Alternatively you can also use egg or chicken for the filing. Follow our instructions to know how to make this snack.

  • For Frankie Roti-
  • 250 g - corn flour
  • water
  • salt
  • oil
  • For Tikki-
  • 1/2 kg - potatoes, boiled, mashed
  • 1 tsp - red chill powder
  • coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp - chat masala
  • salt
  • For Chutney-
  • 1 - large onion
  • coriander leaves
  • 2 - green chilli
  • water
  • salt
  • Others-
  • 2 - medium size onion, finely cut
  • frankie masala or chat masala

How to Make Veg Frankie

  • For roti:
  • Make dough to prepare rotis. Heat oil in kadai, deep-fry the rotis till 1/2 cooked.
  • Repeat for all rotis and keep aside.
  • For tikki:
  • Mix potatoes with chilli powder, salt coriander leaves and chaat masala.
  • Make small balls and fry them on pan with little oil.
  • Now heat tawa, put roti on it for 2 mins till it is cooked from both side.
  • Remove it from tawa. Now place the tikki on middle of the roti.
  • Put some onion coriander leaves on it sprinkle some chaat masala and green chutney.
  • Roll the Frankie .
  • Frankie is ready to eat with sauce.
