Ingredients

  • Beans - 250 g
  • Channa dal - 1 cup
  • Moong dal - 1 cup
  • Dry chillies - 2 or 3
  • Green chillies - 4
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Hing powder - 1.24 tsp
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Curry leaves - 10 or 15 leaves
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Butter - 1 tsp

How to Make Vegetable Patholi

  • Soak the dals in water for 3 hours.
  • Chop beans finely.
  • Grind the dals coarsely along with green chillies, jeera and salt.
  • Heat oil in a heavy bottom kadai.
  • Add dry chillies, curry leaves and urad dal.
  • Once the chillies and urad dal are sauteed, add beans.
  • Fry for 10 minutes on medium heat.
  • Add the ground dals and fry for 15 minutes.
  • Finally, transfer the contents into a serving bowl, sprinkle hing powder and add a tsp of butter.
  • Keep it covered for few minutes and serve.
