  • 1/4 cup - rice
  • 1/4 cup - jaggery
  • 4 tsp - ghee
  • 1 tsp - ghee for garnishing
  • 1tsp - cut cashews, raisins and badams

How to Make Vella Payasam

  • Cook the rice.
  • When it is ready, take it in a pan and add jaggery to it.
  • When the jaggery completely dissolves in the rice, add the 1 tsp of ghee to it.
  • Take a pan and heat it with the 4 tsps of ghee in it.
  • Add some cashews, raisins and badam to it.
  • When the cashews turn slightly brownish, then add it to the payasam mix.
  • Your vella payasam is ready. Serve it cold.
