Ingredients

  • Okra - 100 gm
  • Tamarind paste - 2 tsp.
  • Coconut powder -3 tsp
  • Sambar powder - 2 tsp
  • Salt
  • For Seasoning-
  • Oil -1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • Mustard
  • Hing
  • Turmeric powder.

How to Make Vendakkai (Okra) Kuzhambu

  • In a kadai, add 1 tsp of oil and all the seasoning ingredients. Add the cut okras and fry well.
  • Now add tamarind water, made from 2 tsp of tamarind.
  • Grind sambhar powder and coconut powder to a fine paste.
  • Add this ground paste also and allow it to boil well for 5 mins.
  • Serve hot with rice.
