Ingredients

  • 1 cup - vermicelli
  • 1 cup - sugar
  • Saffron - a pinch
  • Kesar colour - if desired
  • 1/2 cup - ghee
  • 10-12 - raisins
  • 10 - cashew nuts

How to Make Vermicelli Kesari

  • Roast the vermicelli with a little ghee.
  • When it is cooled, add a little water and cook the vermicelli till it becomes soft.
  • Add sugar, reduce the flame.
  • When the sugar dissolves, add ghee and allow it to thicken.
  • Add saffron and kesar colour and mix well.
  • When it has thickened, add raisins and cashewnuts roasted in ghee.
  • Mix well and serve.
