Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp wheat germ, cleaned
  • 1 tbsp green gram dal
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup hot milk (optional)

How to Make Wheat Germ Porridge

  • Wash the dal and mix with the wheat germ.
  • Soak in the water for 5 minutes.
  • Add salt and stir.
  • Put to boil and stir continuously till boiling.
  • Partially cover and cook on low heat till the wheat germ is fully cooked.
  • Stir frequently in between, adding more water if required.
  • When pressed between the thumb and finger, the wheat germ should break easily. Then it is done.
  • Alternatively, you can pressure cook until 2 whistles.
  • Serve hot with milk or salted curd or eat plain with 1/4 tsp ghee.
