Ingredients

  • 1 cup - roasted channa dal
  • 8 - long chillies
  • 2 cup - grated coconut
  • Salt to taste
  • Mustard seeds
  • A few -curry leaves
  • 2 - whole red chillies, crushed

How to Make White Coconut Chutney

  • In a small kadai, heat oil and put the roasted channa dal (daalia) and keep stirring for about 4-5 mins
  • Remove it from the heat, and add chillies and coconut.
  • Grind well in a mixie
  • Heat oil in a kadai and splutter the mustard seeds, curry leaves and crushed chillies and add it to the chutney.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Serve it with idlis, dosa or medu vada.
