Ingredients

  • 2 cups - whole green gram (green moong dal)
  • 1 - onion (chopped)
  • 3 - garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup - any sort of cubed veggies (carrots, zucchinis, potatoes, leek pieces)
  • 1/2 tsp - white pepper powder
  • 2 tsp - parsley leaves (chopped)
  • 1 tsp - chilli sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - olive oil

How to Make Whole Green gram & Veggies Soup

  • Soak the whole green gram for at least 6 hours.
  • Heat the olive oil and saute the chopped onions and minced garlic cloves until the onions turn translucent. Keep aside.
  • Pour the soaked green grams in a pressure cooker with enough water. Add the sauteed onions and garlic cloves, the chopped vegetables and enough salt.
  • Cook for up to 3 whistles. Add the white pepper powder, parsley leaves and chilli sauce.
  • Slightly smash the cooked green grams and cook by simmering for a few minutes.
