  • 1 cup - raw rice
  • 1/2 cup - grated coconut
  • 1/3 cup - jaggery powder
  • 1/2 tsp - cardamom powder
  • ghee or oil to fry

How to Make Yeriappa

  • Soak rice in water for 2 hours.
  • Drain and grind with coconut and jaggery to smooth batter as for dosa. Add cardamom powder.
  • Heat ghee or oil for deep frying.
  • Drop ladle full of batter in moderately hot oil.
  • The batter will set in round shape and puff like poori.
  • Fry on both sides till golden brown.
  • Drain well on kitchen paper. Serve warm or cooled.
